Amazon One Medical has announced the launch of Health Insights, a new beta feature that helps eligible members gain deeper understanding of their routine lab results.

Getting blood test results can be confusing. You see a list of numbers, abbreviations, and ranges, but what does it all actually mean for your health? Amazon One Medical is addressing this gap with the launch of Health Insights, a new beta feature designed to translate routine lab results into personalized, actionable information.

Developed in partnership with Lifeforce, a company specializing in biomarker analysis, Health Insights is now available at no additional cost to eligible One Medical members. The feature analyzes more than 50 biomarkers from standard bloodwork and organizes the findings into understandable categories like cardiovascular health, metabolic function, and immune system performance.

How It Works

Members can access Health Insights through the Lab Results & Insights section of the One Medical app. After completing a brief questionnaire, the feature generates several key outputs: a personalized wellness score based on individual biomarker profiles, detailed analysis of specific biomarkers organized by health domain, evidence-based lifestyle recommendations covering nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and sleep, and scientific references supporting each recommendation.

The goal is to empower patients with clarity about what their numbers mean before they sit down with their doctor. Rather than trying to decipher medical jargon on their own or waiting weeks for a follow-up appointment, members can arrive at conversations with their care team already informed and ready to discuss next steps.

Designed to Complement, Not Replace, Clinical Care

Amazon One Medical emphasizes that Health Insights is meant to support, not substitute, traditional healthcare. All lab results continue to be reviewed by One Medical providers according to established clinical protocols. The feature simply provides an additional layer of understanding that can make those provider conversations more productive.

"Health Insights brings clarity to complex health data and gives providers another way to help our members understand what their lab results mean, so together, they can focus on what matters most: personalized care and better health outcomes," said Dr. Andrew Diamond, Chief Medical Officer at Amazon One Medical.

Integration with Health AI

Health Insights works alongside Health AI, One Medical's conversational agent. While Health Insights provides structured analysis and recommendations, Health AI allows members to dig deeper with real-time questions. Patients can ask follow-up questions about specific biomarkers, request clarification on medical terminology, explore connections between different health metrics, and track trends in their results over time.

Together, these tools offer both organized information and conversational flexibility, making it easier for patients to prepare for meaningful discussions with their healthcare providers.

Who Can Access It

To participate, One Medical members must be over 18, have at least one blood test result in their patient chart from the past year, and not have certain excluded conditions that require specialized clinical guidance. The feature is currently in beta, meaning Amazon One Medical will continue refining it based on member engagement, provider feedback, and health outcomes.

As patients increasingly seek to understand and engage with their health data, tools like Health Insights represent a step toward making complex medical information more accessible. By bridging the gap between raw lab results and actionable health guidance, the feature aims to help people take a more proactive role in managing their wellness.
