Quest Nutrition has partnered with professional basketball player Sophie Cunningham to showcase two new protein snack products and host an original social media competition series. The collaboration introduces Quest Stacks Bars and Crispy Protein Chips while featuring USA Rugby athletes in The Grand Try, a social-first elimination series.

Multi-Layered Stacks Bars Launch

Quest Stacks Bars represent a new approach to protein bar design with five distinct texture layers. Each bar combines crispy, soft and chewy, gooey caramel, and crunchy elements, finished with a chocolatey coating and flavored drizzle.

The bars deliver 20g of protein, 12-13g of fiber, 3g or fewer net carbs, and 1g of sugar per serving. Three flavors will debut: Salted Caramel, Brownie a la Mode, and Cinnamon Brown Sugar. These represent flavors Quest has not previously offered in its protein bar lineup.

Stacks Bars will be available on Amazon beginning March 18, with expanded retail distribution nationwide starting in April. The product targets consumers seeking indulgent taste without compromising protein-first nutrition.

Crispy Protein Chips Enter Market

Quest's new Crispy Protein Chips offer a baked alternative to traditional potato chips with higher protein content. Each serving contains 11-12g of protein and 3-5g of net carbs, depending on flavor.

Three varieties will launch: Sour Cream & Onion (11g protein, 4g net carbs), BBQ (11g protein, 5g net carbs), and Sea Salt (12g protein, 3g net carbs). All flavors contain 1g of sugar or less per serving.

Select Walmart locations began carrying Crispy Protein Chips on March 2, with nationwide availability scheduled for April 15. The chips aim to satisfy cravings for salty snacks while delivering substantial protein content.

Product Development Philosophy

Mike Clawson, Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager of Quest Nutrition, explained the company's approach to the new launches. "At Quest, we never sacrifice flavor for macros, and our new Stacks Bars and Crispy Chips continue to do what we do best—deliver delicious products with athlete-quality nutrition consumers expect from Quest," Clawson said.

The company positions both products as solutions for consumers managing nutritional goals while seeking satisfying snack options. Quest emphasizes texture variety and bold flavors as key differentiators in the protein snack category.

The Grand Try Competition Series

The Grand Try features two teams of USA Rugby athletes competing in challenges inspired by popular TikTok and Instagram party games. Sophie Cunningham, a longtime Quest consumer and partner, serves as host for the series.

Competitions include The Pin Drop, the Pull Race, Flip Tac Toe, "Sophie Says," the Ascent, and The Grand Try. The series showcases athleticism and entertainment while promoting Quest's partnership with USA Rugby national teams as their official protein snack partner.

"Quest is always finding new ways to mix things up, so when they asked me to host The Grand Try, I was all in," Cunningham said. "I love collaborating with other athletes and trying new sports and challenges, so it was the perfect fit."

The series will premiere on Quest Nutrition's Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube starting March 25. A recap will air on Rugby Pass TV in May.

Strategic Positioning

The dual product launch and social content strategy represents Quest's effort to expand its presence in the protein snack market. Both Stacks Bars and Crispy Chips target different consumption occasions—Stacks for sweet cravings and texture variety, Crispy Chips for savory snack moments.

Quest Nutrition, part of Simply Good Foods Company (Nasdaq: SMPL), positions itself as a leader in the nutritious snacking movement. The Denver-based company's portfolio includes Quest, Atkins, and OWYN brands across protein bars, chips, ready-to-drink shakes, powders, and low-sugar baked goods.
