For travelers seeking a blend of luxury, relaxation, and Caribbean adventure, a new destination is on the horizon. Club Med has officially opened reservations for Club Med St. Croix, a premium all-inclusive resort scheduled to welcome its first guests on November 12, 2027. The highly anticipated opening represents the company’s return to U.S. shores and introduces a new flagship property in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Located on Davis Bay, where lush rainforest-covered hills meet the Caribbean Sea, the resort will become Club Med’s second Exclusive Collection property in North America. Designed for guests ages 12 and older, the all-suite resort aims to deliver an elevated Caribbean experience while offering the convenience of passport-free travel for U.S. citizens arriving directly from the mainland.
A Major Return for an Iconic Travel Brand
The opening of Club Med St. Croix marks more than the launch of a new property. It represents the return of a globally recognized hospitality brand to a U.S. destination and signals continued investment in premium all-inclusive travel experiences.
According to Carolyne Doyon, President and CEO of Club Med North America and the Caribbean, the resort combines the personalized service and upscale amenities associated with the Exclusive Collection portfolio while embracing the spirit of exploration and discovery that has defined the Club Med experience for more than 75 years.
The company also views the resort as an opportunity to showcase the culture, landscapes, and unique character of St. Croix to a wider audience.
Reimagining a Historic Caribbean Property
The new resort is being developed through the transformation of the historic Carambola Beach Resort, originally built in 1986 by conservationist and philanthropist Laurance Rockefeller.
Rather than replacing the property entirely, Club Med is undertaking a major redevelopment that preserves much of the site's architectural heritage while introducing contemporary Caribbean-inspired design elements. Natural materials, open-air spaces, and ocean-focused experiences will be incorporated throughout the resort.
The location itself is one of the property's defining features, positioned between a crescent-shaped beach and tropical rainforest on the island’s northwest coast.
An All-Suite Luxury Experience
When it opens, the resort will feature 150 suites, each offering either oceanfront or ocean-view accommodations. Select suites will be located just steps from the beach, providing guests with direct access to the Caribbean coastline.
Planned amenities include:
Three restaurant concepts featuring international and Caribbean-inspired cuisine
Club Med’s first-ever teppanyaki dining experience
Four bars and lounges
An oceanfront infinity pool
A full-service spa
A dedicated adults-focused Zen Oasis area
As part of the Exclusive Collection portfolio, guests can also expect premium accommodations and elevated service experiences.
A Boost for St. Croix Tourism
Local leaders view the project as an important addition to the island’s tourism economy.
Jennifer Matarangas-King, Commissioner of Tourism for the U.S. Virgin Islands, noted that the development is expected to create opportunities for local employment, entrepreneurship, and increased visitor spending while helping diversify the island’s hospitality offerings.
Beyond the resort itself, visitors will have access to many of St. Croix’s attractions, including the historic towns of Christiansted and Frederiksted, local culinary experiences, and natural destinations such as Buck Island Reef National Monument.
Reservations Now Open
Travelers eager to experience the resort can already secure bookings. Early reservation rates start at $365 per person, per night, with reservations available through Club Med and participating travel advisors.
With its combination of luxury accommodations, all-inclusive convenience, spectacular natural surroundings, and cultural immersion, Club Med St. Croix is positioned to become one of the Caribbean's most anticipated resort openings. As the countdown to November 2027 begins, the project represents both a new chapter for Club Med and an exciting addition to the U.S. Virgin Islands tourism landscape.
