Ember Technologies, the global leader in temperature‑controlled drinkware, has officially launched Ember Mug 3, marking the third generation of its flagship smart mug. Building on more than a decade of innovation, the new model introduces some of the most requested upgrades from Ember users, including on‑mug temperature control, top‑rack dishwasher‑safe materials, and an included sipping lid designed to extend battery life and enhance the drinking experience.

A Smarter, More Intuitive Way to Control Temperature

For the first time, Ember Mug 3 allows users to adjust their preferred drinking temperature directly from the mug, eliminating the need to open the Ember app. A power button at the bottom of the mug cycles through five preset temperature settings in five‑degree increments ranging from 125°F to 145°F. The mug’s onboard temperature seamlessly syncs with the Ember app, giving users flexibility to control their drink however they prefer.

Ember CEO Matt Murray emphasized that Mug 3 was designed to feel more natural and effortless:

“We listened to our user feedback when developing the new mug. If you’re an existing Ember user, you’ll be delighted with the new features, and if you’re a first‑time user, we’re excited to change the way you drink your coffee or tea every day.”

Dishwasher‑Safe Materials for Easier Everyday Use

One of the most significant upgrades in Mug 3 is its top‑rack dishwasher‑safe design. Ember improved both materials and manufacturing processes to ensure durability while maintaining the mug’s signature stainless steel core and FDA‑compliant, ceramic‑reinforced exterior and interior coating.

This enhancement makes caring for the mug easier than ever, addressing a long‑standing request from customers who wanted a more convenient cleaning experience without sacrificing quality or performance.

A New Lid That Extends Battery Life and Reduces Spills

Every Ember Mug 3 now includes a sliding sipping lid, designed to help maintain the ideal drinking temperature for up to three hours on a single charge. The lid also helps prevent spills, making the mug more portable and practical for busy mornings, office use, or travel.

The addition of the lid reflects Ember’s focus on elevating the everyday ritual of drinking coffee or tea, keeping beverages at the perfect temperature longer while adding convenience and comfort.

Sizes, Colors, and Availability

Ember Mug 3 is available in 10‑ounce and 14‑ounce sizes:

10 oz — $129 USD, available in black, white, and a new stainless steel finish
14 oz — $149 USD, available in eight colors: black, sage green, lavender, powder blue, salt blue, sandstone, white, and matcha green

The mug is now available at ember.com, and will be sold at Target (online and in‑store) beginning September 27, with Amazon availability in October.
