Q Parker releases his highly anticipated sophomore solo project, "The Evolution of Romance, Volume One."
The landscape of R&B is being challenged to slow down, get soulful, and put genuine emotion back at the forefront. Grammy-winning R&B veteran and founding member of the legendary group 112, Q Parker, is leading that charge with the release of his highly anticipated sophomore solo project, The Evolution of Romance, Volume One, which arrived on November 14th, 2025.
Parker, who self-proclaims himself the "Romance Dealer," is on a mission to fill a void in modern R&B, which he feels has lost its focus on true courtship, affection, and love songs built on genuine experience. The project, released under his own label, Paramount Collective Ventures, is a mature, heartfelt exploration of love that mirrors his personal growth as a man and his evolution as an artist.
A New Era of Intimate R&B
Parker's years with 112 taught him the fundamentals of creating timeless, emotional music that became the soundtrack to a generation. Classics like "Cupid" and "Anywhere" were more than hits; they became cultural cues that helped people express what they felt. Now, decades later, Parker is building on that foundation, but from a grounded, life-experienced perspective.
“When I set out on this solo journey, I was looking for a space to occupy, a lane that I could own, and it occurred to me that we haven't been paying the right kind of attention to the ladies for a while,” Parker noted in a recent interview. “I want this project to be a conversation between men and women about affection, courtship, support, love and all the things that true romance encompasses.”
The 11-track album showcases smooth arrangements and introspective songwriting that speak to grown-up intimacy.
Redefining the Love Song
The Evolution of Romance era launched with the chart-climbing single “B.E.G.,” which earned Parker his first solo Top 10 hit on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart. The song cleverly redefines the concept of "begging" in a relationship: not as submission, but as an acronym for “Bringing Endless Gratitude.”
“When both partners commit to showing gratitude and affection regularly, it keeps the romance alive,” Parker explained. “That's the energy I wanted to start this movement with.”
Another highlight on the album is “Keep On Lovin’,” a soulful collaboration with R&B powerhouse Rico Love. The track pays homage to classic R&B by sampling The Deele's iconic "Two Occasions," giving it a fresh, yet nostalgic, groove that speaks to the beauty of lasting love.
The project isn't just about music; it's a statement. Parker wants the album to be the "soundtrack of your romantic evenings," providing the voice for those who may not be able to articulate the depth of their feelings to their partners. He insists: "Romance isn't dead. We just have to remind people how to love again."
