Greenlight, the family finance and safety app, expanded its product lineup with its first physical device. Greenlight Safe Family provides GPS-enabled location protection for children, seniors, and pets. The screen-free tracking solution is now available on Amazon and shop.greenlight.com.
The launch marks Greenlight's move beyond digital finance into physical hardware. The company, valued at over $2.3 billion and best known for its debit card and money app for kids and teens, aims to evolve into an all-encompassing family management platform.
Addressing Multi-Generational Care Needs
Nearly one in four American adults juggle care for both children and aging parents. Greenlight Safe Family offers three device variants tailored to different family members: Safe Kids with screen-free GPS location tracking and one-tap emergency alerts, Safe Seniors with fall detection and an SOS button, and Safe Pets with GPS location tracking Business Wire that alerts owners when pets wander beyond set boundaries.

Key Features
The devices provide precise GPS tracking for accurate location data, a significant advantage over limited-range Bluetooth trackers like AirTags. Users can set customizable place alerts for arrivals and departures from designated locations such as home, school, or the dog park. The SOS button instantly notifies emergency contacts in case of emergencies.
Battery life reaches up to 30 days on a single charge. The devices work across platforms with iOS and Android compatibility. For seniors, the fall detection feature automatically alerts emergency contacts when a fall is detected. For pets, the tracker handles temperatures from negative four degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and resists splashes.
Integration with Greenlight Platform
The Safe Family devices integrate with Greenlight's existing family finance and safety app. The app brings together spending, saving, investing, financial education, and flexible controls in one place while helping protect older family members from financial and digital risks. Users access real-time alerts, location sharing, emergency services, and driving reports through the unified platform.
For existing Greenlight customers, adding a Safe Family device extends a platform they already trust for managing family life. The integration into a single familiar app streamlines the user experience. Customers must be on Core, Max, Infinity, or Family Shield plans to use the device. The device is not available for use with Select or Greenlight+Invest plans.
Competitive Market Entry
Greenlight enters competitive markets across three segments. In child tracking, the company competes with established brands like AngelSense and Jiobit.
