Hyundai Debuts “The Mark of a Warrior” to Elevate Pediatric Cancer Awareness and Research
HEALTH & BEAUTY

The Mark of a Warrior comes to life through approximately 42 Hyundai Hope on Wheels handprint ceremonies, check presentations, Warrior Gown deliveries and more than 100 community blood drives across the country.

Reimagined as The Mark of a Warrior, the Hyundai Hope on Wheels handprint transforms hope into action, serving as a badge of courage, resilience and belonging.
Hyundai Hope On Wheels, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit funders of pediatric cancer research, has launched a bold new campaign titled “The Mark of a Warrior.” Timed to coincide with National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the initiative aims to spotlight the courage of children battling cancer, accelerate research funding, and rally communities nationwide to join the fight against pediatric cancer.
The campaign builds on Hyundai’s long‑standing commitment to ending childhood cancer, a mission the company has championed for more than 25 years.
A Campaign Rooted in Strength, Courage, and Hope
“The Mark of a Warrior” celebrates the resilience of children diagnosed with cancer, honoring their strength, their families’ determination, and the medical teams who support them. The campaign introduces new storytelling elements designed to elevate awareness, including:
Warrior‑themed imagery and symbolism
Survivor stories and family testimonials
Community engagement activations
A national call‑to‑action encouraging donations and involvement
Hyundai Hope On Wheels emphasizes that every child fighting cancer is a warrior, and every supporter plays a role in helping them win their battle.
More Than 25 Years of Funding Pediatric Cancer Research
Since its founding in 1998, Hyundai Hope On Wheels has awarded over $225 million in research grants to leading children’s hospitals and cancer centers across the United States. These grants support groundbreaking studies, innovative therapies, and clinical programs that aim to improve survival rates and quality of life for young patients.
In 2026, the organization will continue expanding its grant portfolio, providing critical funding to institutions working to develop new treatments and accelerate scientific breakthroughs.
Signature Moment: The Handprint Ceremony
A hallmark of Hyundai Hope On Wheels is its iconic handprint ceremony, where children place their painted handprints on Hyundai vehicles. Each handprint represents a child’s personal fight against cancer, a symbol of hope, courage, and the collective effort to find a cure.
“The Mark of a Warrior” incorporates this tradition into its campaign visuals, reinforcing the message that every child’s story matters and every handprint is a reminder of the work still to be done.
Mobilizing Communities Nationwide
Hyundai’s new campaign includes national outreach designed to engage:
Families
Schools
Local communities
Hyundai dealerships
Pediatric cancer advocates
Through events, digital storytelling, and fundraising initiatives, Hyundai Hope On Wheels aims to inspire people across the country to join the movement and support pediatric cancer research.
Driving Toward a Future Without Childhood Cancer
With “The Mark of a Warrior,” Hyundai Hope On Wheels continues its mission to empower young cancer fighters and accelerate progress toward a cure. The campaign underscores Hyundai’s belief that every child deserves a future free from cancer, and that collective action can help make that future possible.
