Toastmasters International has announced that Stefano S. McGhee, DTM, a technology executive from Weymouth, Massachusetts, has been elected to the organization’s Board of Directors. McGhee assumed his one‑year term during the 2026 Toastmasters International Convention, held August 19–22 in Vancouver, Canada. His appointment places him at the helm of one of the world’s most influential organizations dedicated to communication and leadership development.

Technology Leader With Deep Operational Expertise

McGhee brings extensive experience in technology operations and organizational leadership. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Technology Operations at Harvard Business Publishing, where he led a multidisciplinary team of cloud engineers, architects, integration specialists, and help desk technicians. His work ensured the stability and availability of the organization’s most critical applications, including the globally recognized Harvard Business Review.

His background blends technical leadership with strategic oversight, positioning him well to support Toastmasters’ evolving digital and operational needs.

Academic Achievement and Community Engagement

McGhee earned a master’s degree in military operational arts and sciences from the United States Air Force’s higher education organization. During his studies, he received the International Security Studies Research Award for work relevant to national security.

Beyond his professional and academic accomplishments, McGhee is actively involved in several communities:

  • Member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, where he introduces children and young adults to aviation

  • Motorcycle enthusiast

  • Leader at a local yacht club

These interests reflect his commitment to mentorship, exploration, and community connection.

A Distinguished Toastmasters Journey

A Toastmaster since 2005, McGhee’s home club is Network Voice Toastmasters in Weymouth. Over two decades, he has held numerous high‑profile leadership roles within the organization and earned the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) designation, the highest level of educational achievement Toastmasters offers.

McGhee credits Toastmasters with shaping his leadership journey, noting:

“To those willing to put the time in, Toastmasters gives the critical skills to be a better version of yourself. From there, you can confidently take on more challenges at work and life and become the sought‑after leader needed in today’s world.”

Working Ambassador for Toastmasters Worldwide

As an officer of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, McGhee serves as a “working ambassador” for the organization. He collaborates with fellow board members to develop, support, and refine the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters’ global mission.

His role includes strengthening club experiences, supporting educational programs, and ensuring Toastmasters continues empowering members to achieve personal and professional communication goals.
