Tripping Animals Brewing is Defying the Craft Beer Slump
HOSPITALITY

Tripping Animals Brewing's breakout success of No Mames Light marks the brand's confident move into the light beer space.
The headlines for the craft beer industry have been sobering lately. With national sales facing a downturn and brewery closures outpacing openings for the second year in a row, many independent brewers are hitting the brakes. But in the heart of Florida, Tripping Animals Brewing is charting a different course, one defined by rapid expansion, retail dominance, and a shift from "brewery" to "creative beverage company."
In a new update on their 2025 performance, the Doral-based brewery revealed that while the industry is in transition, their momentum is only accelerating.
Expanding the Footprint: From Taprooms to Trader Joe’s
Tripping Animals has spent the last year transforming from a local favorite into a household name. In 2025, the brand celebrated two major milestones: the seventh anniversary of its original Doral brewery and the one-year anniversary of its second taproom in Fort Lauderdale.
But their growth isn't limited to their own walls. Over the past 12 months, the brewery secured coveted new shelf space at major retailers including Trader Joe’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Fresh Market, and Milam’s. They even brought a craft touch to the theme park circuit, featuring seasonal beers at Halloween events for Universal, Busch Gardens, and SeaWorld.
Innovation-Forward: The Rise of "No Mames Light"
Consumer lifestyles are evolving, and Tripping Animals is evolving with them. The standout success of the year has been No Mames Light, the brand’s strategic move into the light beer category. By offering a more accessible, lower-calorie option without sacrificing their signature bold quality, they’ve managed to capture a segment of the market that many craft brewers have overlooked.
To support this growth, the brewery has refreshed core favorites like Ever Haze and No Mames in new 12 oz formats, specifically designed to increase their reach in both retail aisles and local bars.
More Than Just Beer: The Future of Beverage
Perhaps the most exciting news is the brewery’s investment in the future. A new state-of-the-art in-house laboratory is coming online to sharpen quality control and speed up R&D for the "wellness and alternative beverage" categories.
“Our goal is to be more than a brewery, we’re becoming a creative beverage company,” says Juan Manuel Torres, Chief Operations Officer. “From light beers to new offerings, we’re pushing ourselves into new spaces without ever losing our identity.”
A Legacy of Giving Back
Despite the business-forward moves, the heart of Tripping Animals remains rooted in community. The leadership team, Iker Elorriaga, Daniel Chocron, Juan Manuel Torres, and Ignacio Montenegro, continues to support philanthropic organizations like the Pink Boots Society, Pride, and the Center for Great Apes.
Looking ahead to January 2026, the brewery will launch a new built-in giving mechanism: four selected non-profits will receive quarterly fundraising support generated directly through the sales of their popular Ever Haze beer.
In an industry that is currently "contracting," Tripping Animals is proving that with a blend of creative hospitality, retail agility, and a commitment to community, it’s possible to do more than just survive, you can thrive.
