Live Nation kicks off Its busiest Week as global research shows fans Returning to real experiences.

As Live Nation enters what is expected to be its busiest fan‑attendance week of 2026, a new global report from Live Nation for Brands reveals a powerful cultural shift: people around the world are increasingly prioritizing real‑world experiences over digital ones. The report, titled The Return to Real, draws on surveys of tens of thousands of fans worldwide and uncovers why live music remains the world’s favorite form of entertainment, and why brands are racing to meet fans in these moments.

Fans Are Craving Authentic, In‑Person Experiences

According to the report, 93% of fans prefer real experiences over digital alternatives, and 80% would rather spend money on experiences than on things. As technology becomes more deeply woven into daily life, fans say it’s harder to distinguish what’s real, what’s generated, and what actually happened.

Live music cuts through that uncertainty. When the lights go down, the artist is on stage, the crowd is in the room, and thousands of people share the same moment, something digital environments can’t replicate.

Russell Wallach, Global President of Live Nation Media & Sponsorship, explains:

“People can do almost everything from their phones now. That’s exactly why the things worth leaving home for matter more than ever.”

New Era for Brand Loyalty

The report also reveals a surprising tension in consumer loyalty. While 66% of fans say they engage with loyalty programs more than they did a year ago, 64% feel less loyal to brands, and 71% believe loyalty programs all feel the same.

Live music may be the key to revitalizing loyalty. More than 90% of fans say live music benefits would make them sign up for, or switch, loyalty programs. Brands across industries are already responding:

  • Spotify Reserved is using digital tools to connect fans with live experiences.

  • Mastercard is leaning into exclusive access as a new form of loyalty, offering Priceless experiences tied to Live Nation events.

  • Lowe’s is extending loyalty beyond the store, using music‑driven experiences to surprise and delight members.

These examples show how brands are blending digital convenience with real‑world connection to build deeper relationships.

Why Live Music Matters More Than Ever

Live Nation’s busiest week of the year underscores the growing value fans place on shared, in‑person experiences. As restaurants fill before shows, merch lines wrap around venues, and fans trade set‑list predictions, the energy surrounding live events reflects a broader cultural movement: people want moments they can see, feel, and remember.

Live music offers:

  • Emotional connection

  • Community belonging

  • Authenticity in an increasingly digital world

  • Experiences that create lasting memories

The Return to Real report explores how these values are reshaping culture, commerce, and brand strategy.

Global Movement Toward Real Connection

As life becomes more digital, fans are seeking experiences that feel unmistakably real, and live music is leading the way. Live Nation’s new report shows that brands who invest in these moments can build stronger loyalty, deeper emotional resonance, and more meaningful consumer relationships.

The world is returning to real, and live music is at the center of that shift.
